Tim shares his month long trip to Argentina in October 2003.
Argentina
Argentina is a unique and spectacular country, in itself one third as big
as the United States.
It encompasses 4 dramatically different regions from the rich plains of
the Pampas in northern half, the tropical forests in the North East to rolling
plateau of Patagonia in the south, and the rugged Andes along the western
border.
The Climate is mostly temperate, but arid in southeast and subantarctic
in southwest. It has extremes in elevation from the lowest point: Salinas
Chicas -120ft below sea level on the Valdes Peninsula to its highest point,
Mount Aconcagua at 21,000ft.
We have put together a unique way to see this vast country, staying at
the Estancias, elegant and comfortable homes of the Argentine people, hosted
by their owners, who are so knowledgeable in their particular areas.
There are many options, please view these sample safaris:
- Argentina Safari, Estancia Arroyo Verde, Buenos Aires, Iguazú Falls, Mendoza
- Chile & Argentina Safari, Isla Victoria Lodge, Bariloche, Patagonia, Puerto Varas, Lake Ranco
- A Unique Peru / Argentina Itinerary, Lima, Cusco Cuzco, Buenos Aires, Pumamarca, Jujuy, Cordoba
Jonathan and Angela Scott from Kenya, creators of Big Cat Diary on Animal Planet, travelled to Argentina in 2004:
Our trip to Argentina just couldn’t have been more special. Safari Experts and their Argentine agent were outstanding - their extraordinary efficiency and attention to detail was a joy! Buenos Aires was fascinating and we only wished we had had longer to explore – the Tango show was the highlight and left us wanting to go the next night and the night after that! But most memorable was El Rocio – they couldn’t have looked after us with more care - we could have stayed forever and we are already trying to organize our next trip so as to be able to spend a bit more time in Argentina – it will never be as long as I would hope!
