Argentina Safari - Estancia Arroyo Verde, Buenos Aires, Iguazú Falls, Mendoza
Day 1
Arrive
Buenos Aires Ezeiza International Airport in the morning. Met upon arrival
and transferred to the Domestic Airport (45 minutes) to take flight to Bariloche
(2 hours) in the heart of Patagonia's pristine Lake District. Transfer to
Estancia Arroyo Verde in private car (1 hour drive) along the beautiful
road that skirts the Nahuel Huapi Lake, the Limay river, traversing the
Enchanted Valley with its wondrous rock formations. Afternoon to enjoy the
scenic Patagonian countryside. Overnight at Estancia Arroyo Verde.
Day 2 - 3
Two full days of pure outdoors: riding, hiking, fishing and sight-seeing
around this nature paradise of lakes, forests, rivers and mountains, staying
at one of Argentina's prime ranches: Estancia Arroyo Verde.
Day 4
Transfer
to Bariloche airport. (1 hour drive) to take flight to Salta, connecting
through Cordoba city (3 1/2 hrs). Met and transferred to Estancia
El Bordo de las Lanzas (1 hr drive), a jewel of colonial architecture
and an authentic experience of traditional cultures. Located in the wonderful
north-west region of Argentina: a land of contrasts and magic,
fertile plains, arid deserts dotted with cactus and colorful mountains,
lush vegetation and wildlife, picturesque Indian villages and colonial
churches. Dinner and overnight at El Bordo savoring the delicious Salta
cuisine and enjoying the best hospitality.
Day 5
Full day at Estancia El Bordo de las Lanzas, to enjoy the countryside and
visit the scenic Humahuaca Gorge. Overnight at Estancia El Bordo de las
Lanzas.
Day 6
Transfer to Jujuy airport (15 mins) to take flight to Buenos Aires (2 hrs).
Transfer to the hotel (30 mins) with an introductory tour of Buenos
Aires. Ideal day for a nice dinner at one of Buenos Aires' gourmet restaurants
by the waterfront, to taste the fine beef and wines, followed by
a spectacular tango show, Argentina's passion.
Overnight at the Alvear Palace Hotel.
Day 7
Transfer
to Domestic Airport to take flight to Puerto Iguazú (1
1/2 hrs). Met and transferred to the Iguazú Grand Hotel (15 mins).
Afternoon to relax and enjoy the amazing scenery: overwhelming
waterfalls and lush rain forests. Overnight at Iguazú, meals independently.
Day 8
Full day visiting the impressive Iguazú Falls, a true natural wonder,
from the Argentine and Brazilian sides: You will be picked up by your guide
and taken to visit the Argentine side of the Falls and Devil's Throat, the
largest and most spectacular fall. Cross by boat and walk the catwalk. Continue
by car to the Brazilian side, to enjoy a panoramic view of the 275 falls
among a myriad butterflies and wonderful wildlife. Stop for lunch at the
pretty Portuguese colonial Das Cataratas Hotel. Optional Helicopter ride
over the falls. Return to the hotel. Overnight at the Grand Hotel Iguazú,
meals independently.
Day 9
You will be picked up by your guide and taken on a walk along the Short
Circuit path, to enjoy the view of the falls from below, crossing by boat
to San Martín Island and taking "The Great Adventure" excursion
which consists on a one hour program navigating on rubber-boats along the
Lower Iguazú River to approach Devil's Throat Canyon and the main
falls "Three Musketeers", "San Martín" and "Bosetti",
and then down the river over the rapids to a beach, continuing on an open
four-wheel drive truck across the rain forests sighting flora and wildlife
on the way back. You can stop for lunch at the Sheraton Iguazú Hotel.
Return to the hotel. Overnight at the Grand Hotel Iguazú, meals independently.
Day 10
Transfer to Puerto Iguazú Airport to take 1 ½ hr flight to
Buenos Aires (1 1/2 hrs), connecting to San Rafael, Mendoza (1 1/2 hr).
Met upon arrival and drive 20 mins to Estancia Los Alamos located in the
heart of Argentina's beautiful Wine Country. Relax at the estancia. Dinner
and overnight at Los Alamos.
Day 11 - 12
Two full days at Estancia Los Alamos, a place full of history and charm.
Visit vineyards and wineries, white-water rafting, horseback riding. Overnight
at Los Alamos.
Day 13
Drive a leisurely 1 1/2 hrs to Estancia Chateau D'Ancon in the heart of
the Wine District, important vineyard and producers of potato, walnuts,
cherries and garlic, with scenic views of the Cordón del Plata snowcapped
mountain range. Overnight at Chateau D'Ancon.
Day 14
Wine Tour of Mendoza's major wineries, lunch at Francis Mallman's exclusive
restaurant in the Escorihuela winery, and transfer to Mendoza Airport to
take flight back to Buenos Aires (1 1/2 hrs). Met upon arrival and transferred
to the Alvear Palace Hotel (20 mins), Buenos Aires most traditional hotel,
located in the elegant Recoleta district. Rest of day at leisure in Buenos
Aires. Overnight at the Alvear Palace, meals independently.
Day 15
Full day in Buenos Aires to enjoy the city, sight-see and shop. Private
City Tour in the morning, afternoon at leisure. Overnight at the Alvear
Palace Hotel.
Day 16
Day at leisure in Buenos Aires to shop and explore the city's diversity
of neighborhoods. Transfer to the International Airport to take flight back
home in the evening.
Day 17
Arrive U.S.A.
