Kenya & Kilimanjaro Climb

Day 1

Depart U.S.A.

Day 2

Morning arrival in Amsterdam. Connect to KLM at 10:35am arriving Nairobi at 8:15pm. Meet and transfer to Grand Regency Hotel.

Day 3

10:30am collected from the hotel lobby and taken to Wilson airport for 11:00am charter to Chyulu Hills - Ol Donyo Wuas. Guests of Richard and Tara Bonham's hosts, on 350,000 acres of Maasai land, overlooked by 19,000ft Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Day 4: Ol Donyo Wuas

Walking, riding and game driving.

Day 5

Fly 1 1/2 hrs North across the Equator to Lewa Downs, guests of ourselves at Ngare Niti, our beautiful home on the lower slopes of 17,000ft Mt. Kenya.

Day 6 - 7: Lewa Downs

Walking and game driving.

Day 8 - 10: Ol Malo

0930 charter flight Northwest to Ol Malo, guests of Colin and Rocky Francombe, in their spectacular cliff top home. Possibly fly camp out with the camels. Visit an unspoiled Samburu manyatta.

Day 11

09:00 Tropicair charter Southwest across the Great Rift Valley to the Maasai Mara. Land at Ngerende. Met and transfer to Acacia Trails luxury tented camp by the Olare Orok stream, between the Mara and its Northern collection plains.

Day 12 - 13: Mara

Game drives and walks amongst the greatest concentration of game anywhere on earth.

Day 14

11:00am air Kenya scheduled flight to Wilson arr 12:15, connect to ZB 12:45pm charter to Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. Met and transfer to Marangu hotel for briefing and nightstop.

Day 15

Transferred to Machame Gate to begin your climb. The Machame route is considered by some to be the most attractive of the routes up Kilimanjaro. Climb to Machame Hut, walking for 5 to 6 hours.

Day 16

Climb on to Shira Hut (3,840m)

Day 17

Spend the day acclimatizing at the Shira Hut.

Day 18

Continue up to Barranco Hut (3,900m)

Day 19

Climb to Barafu Hut (4,600m)

Day 20

Leave hut at 1- 2am for climb to to Uhuru peak. Descend to Mweka hut.

Day 21

Descend to the Marangu Gate and then transfer to Kilimanjaro airport for 3:30pm ZB charter flight to Nairobi Wilson. Met and transfer to Giraffe Manor. Guests of Rick and Bryony Anderson and their famous Rothschilds giraffe.

Day 22

After lunch, a driver will take you for shopping and dinner before taking you to the airport for you to check in for KLM Departure 10:25pm
